The Chiltern Sculpture Trail is located in a lovely part of the Chilterns, close to the Aston Rowant National Nature Reserve, the ancient Ridgeway long-distance path and next to the Oxfordshire-Buckinghamshire border. You can read about the flora & fauna and recreational possibilities of the area on the background pages.

Views of the area, like these across Wormsley Estate from the gate near the site of Bench by Richard La Trobe Bateman (no longer in situ.) at the eastern tip of the wood, are often dominated by a huge communications tower which stands on the top of the ridge. It's actually a handy landmark if you're approaching the Trail from the north, as the road from the A40 to Cowleaze Wood starts close to it.
