In early 2003 a series of text signs suddenly began to appear all along the Trail. In 2004 many were relocated to positions around the parking and picnic areas. At first sight these cryptic phrases seem to be the sort of marker you would expect to find in a public woodland environment, perhaps showing the way or giving the latin name of a tree. On closer inspection they actually form a whimsical collection of snippets of conversation. They are the result of a visit to the Trail, during which Miranda became interested in observing groups and individuals as they interacted with the sculptures and each other. She decided to illustrate this with a series of 'emotional way-markers', which while not literally taking the conversations she'd caught, record moments of experience on the Trail or a similar location.
