Red Kites have become re-established in the Chilterns area over the last 20 years and these beautiful birds are a source of inspiration to all Trail visitors. To illustrate the birds' behavioural patterns and their soaring flight, Rosemarie McGoldrick has produced a viewing machine called a Mutoscope and installed it in the wood. Using Victorian 'flip book' technology, it shows a lone Red Kite in flight, which becomes animated when the handle on the right is turned.
