NO LONGER STANDING. In May 2004 several hazel structures were placed in the wood, away from existing paths.
This small group of organic sculptures were a response to the environment in which they were made.
Containing equal elements of strength and fragility in their structure,
as objects they occupied an area in-between contemporary visual art and traditional craft
sensibilities. They contained a shelter-like playfulness, reminiscent of the impromptu
shelters which often appear at the Trail. In October 2005 some of these sculptures were
replaced as a part of art workshop activity on the Trial. The sculptures had collapsed by
September 2006. |
