In a new work for 2003, this Jerwood prize short-listed artist has used the harsh geometric forms of steel posts painted white to create a
defined area within the wood. It was his intention to indicate some sort of unknown function or land-surveying activity, without upsetting
the natural balance of the sculptures environment. The crisp simplicity of the component parts enhance the effect of the grouped poles as
the seasons, light levels and colour of foliage changes.
